Vally Sharpe

Vally Sharpe
A writer and editor for most of her life, both vocationally and avocationally, Vally Sharpe has applied those skills in a variety of settings: as a psychotherapist and specialist in psychological evaluation, as an HR training and development consultant, as a software developer, and as a corporate and nonprofit marketing director and grant writer. The author of two books, Simon Says: Views from a Higher Perspective (2004), for which she was named Georgia Author of the Year in the Inspirational Category,  and Andrew's Eyes (2009, Kindle Edition 2010), she is a past president of the Georgia Writers Association. She has overseen the publishing of books about spirituality, business management and leadership development, and has a special place in her heart for memoirs of members of the Greatest Generation.

Jan Lowe
After spending the majority of her professional life as a corporate operations executive, book-loving Jan Lowe joined Vally as a colleague in 1996, co-founding a management consulting firm specializing in the provision of staffing, customer service, and technological needs of entrepreneurial firms in a variety of industries. Following the sale of that company in 2000, Jan teamed up with Vally once again to co-found United Writers Press in 2004. In charge of general operations and interior layout, Jan's primary focus has been the development and publishing of books for children and youth, including a NY Times best seller. An avid golfer, Jan loves to travel.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Gilbert
Betsy Gilbert is a writer and editor with experience and expertise spanning book, film and a broad range of journalism and marketing communications projects. Her collaborations with Jan and Vally began when they were introduced in 2007 through a mutual client. Betsy has written, co-written, ghostwritten and edited/rewritten books of fiction and non-fiction, as well as screenplays. Two non-fiction titles are scheduled for publication in 2012, an original screenplay has been optioned by a Los Angeles production company, a three-part miniseries has been optioned by another Los Angeles/New York producer and a work-for-hire "script-doctored" screenplay has been optioned by an independent New York studio. Many of Betsy's articles have been published in a variety of business, consumer and industry-specific publications. Some were ghostwritten or edited and published under the bylines of corporate executives and others were written and published under her byline. Whether she is working with authors as a ghostwriter or editor, Betsy believes that the keys to a successful—and enjoyable—collaboration are honesty, trust and mutual respect.
