Since 2004, we at UWP have worked with more than 300 authors and micro-publishers to achieve and, in many cases, surpass their goals. In an industry in which most “self-published” authors sell fewer than 150 books (the average is 44 for Print on Demand), we’ve seen some of our clients' books picked up by national publishing houses while others have found solid regional and niche audiences.
Among these are a New York Times best-seller (#8 on the list in March 2010); a regional book that has sold over 15,000 copies since its debut in August 2008 (including 725 in three hours on the day of its release); and a volume of stories, photographs and paintings of the most highly-decorated of World War II's fighter groups, now selling for more than $200/copy on the collector’s market.
Fees for marketing consultation range from $100/hour to $1,000 for development of a customized roadmap for marketing and promoting your work. Our turn-key programs include 2-3 hours of marketing assistance for those new to the independent publishing world.
